Stuart, I'm so glad you re-posted this article on this blog. It deserves more people to read it - very well-written, and oh, if only more people were like you and able to see and think so objectively...
First visit to your blog, although recall seeing your comments on Carla's blog. Nice intro that! I'm quite amazed at the following Bollywood has among non-desi, partly desi folk - more power to it!
what a wonderful post and such a lovely way with words you do have. I've learnt a couple of new words from reading this and I'm so with you on Esha, and I can safely say I'm a bit of a contrarian too (see my love for 80's bollywood on the blogosphere as proof) ;)

ReplyDeleteThanks, for that. Reposting it gave me a chance to trim it a bit too - fifteen percent shorter now, which is no bad thing! :)

ReplyDeleteThanks for your kind words, Amodini, very much appreciated. Indian cinema definitely does have the power to excite loyalty, that's for sure.
DeleteWow, interesting blog. You should guest post for us! (Thanks for signing up for 50/50 Challenge also)
ReplyDeleteThanks! I'm busy trawling your site for inspiration and ideas on how to write up my attempt at 5050me.
