Movie 24/50 I Hate Luv Storys

  1. I kinda liked the movie but never bothered to revisit it again although it seems to be playing on asian channels on a loop! They never really made clear what Sonam's character was lacking in her relationship with Samir Dattani, making the whole Imran arc a bit weak.
I do like both actors and enjoyed the film within film references and the Sanjay Leela bhansali parody.

    1. Ooh, I missed the SLB parody - I might have to watch it again now!

  2. Cool new layout!

IHLS - another one that I can't help but enjoy though I can understand why others don't get much out of it. I agree that whatever metaphor they were going for with Sameer and Sonam's character didn't really work, in fact it fell flat.

But my brother and I were mighty impressed in that scene where Sonam took the misunderstanding between her and Imran's character in stride - she didn't make much of scene and agreed that she had concocted the romance in her head. Don't think you see too many of those types of scenes - usually there are hysterics or "tumne mujhe dhoka diya hai!" type dialogues involved.

Yep totally loved the various references to different movies, especially Saawariya. In fact Bahara is pretty much perfection in my eyes:

That bridge part is Saawariya related btw.

    1. Oh and ofcourse the presence of so many serial actors I adore helped. *cough* Amir Ali *cough* Sameer Soni *cough*

Plus I was falling off the couch during the bits in the end where instead of actual conversation everyone was using placeholder words.

    2. Ah, I haven't seen Saawariya, and have absolutely no intention to. You are right, too about Sonam's character admitting her fault in that sequence.

Your enthusiasm for the film is prompting me to consider rewatching it, one day. Perhaps my enthusiasm for *cough* its location *cough* will encourage you to see that, one day. :)

    3. Thanks for the kind words on the layout - it's all thanks to Kimba McG. Possibly my favourite part of her design was her decision, without any input from me, to use an aerial photo of a certain city as the background. I was so impressed I asked her to emboss the name of the city in the image, as you can see.

    4. Wow I love it I had been wondering why it said Meerut, though I did know your connection to it. I get it now :D
